When there is an inadequate fit between the person and their manual wheelchair, the person is left to compensate when propelling and may not recognise this until it is too late. Immediate difficulty with propulsion, limited function, and overuse injuries may not be obvious right away, because the person has been compensating from the start! As stated in the RESNA position paper, the wheelchair should conform to the person, the person should not have to conform to the improper fit of their wheelchair. When a wheelchair is customized to a person’s individual needs, it fits the person like a tailored garment of clothing.
This webinar will highlight the intricate nature of prescribing a TiLite rigid manual wheelchair, covering specific “how to” details for some key measurements that can provide that ultimate fit.
Certificates of attendance will be emailed for anyone attending 80% or more of the webinar.
