What is a restraint? Sounds like an easy question right? After all, we have laws that require us to use a seat belt in a motor vehicle to restrain us in case of an accident….same for a wheelchair ..it’s a safety belt right? It’s not always a clear cut scenario. We need to understand the difference between safety and positioning and clearly articulate the intended use. This webinar looks at some of the restraint polices impacting the provision of pelvic belts. When is a pelvic belt a safety belt vs a postural enabler, some of you may be asking what a postural enabler is. This webinar will look at what restrictive practice is and how it relates to those we are prescribing seating and mobility solutions for.
